Marco Melandri will retire from racing at the end of the 2019 SBK season.
With 1 World Championship in 2002 in 250cc class, 22 victories and 62 podiums in MotoGP, and 22 victories and 75 podiums in SBK (for now) he will be truly missed in the world of motorsport. I still remember one of his sentences which I’ve always though as perfect for bike racing: “The only enemy is the asphalt”. I wish this guy all the best for him and his family.

Racer, fast, breathtaking, inspiring.

1st May 2019 sees the 25 year anniversary of Senna’s death.

The image of Ayrton Senna in his fire-proof racing hood was taken by Jon Nicholson at Imola on the Saturday morning before the first practice.
